KZ Castor vs Castor Pro: Which One to Buy in the UAE
KZ Castor and KZ Castor Pro look almost the same and both come in two tunings, Harman Target (silver) and Bass Edition (black). The differences are inside: the drivers, how the tuning switches work, the plug options, and how fast we can deliver them. This page sets them side by side, using the specs on our product pages.
We sell both models. Prices and stock are pulled live from our shop. Updated 6 October 2026.
KZ Castor vs Castor Pro
| Model | Drivers | Tuning switches | Plug options | Impedance (HT · Bass) | Delivery | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KZ Castor | 8 mm + 10 mm dynamic | Two-stage bass and treble switches | 3.5 mm, 3.5 mm + mic | 31–35 Ω · 16–20 Ω | Economy (4–6 business days, card) | From AED 75 |
| KZ Castor Pro | 2 × 10 mm dynamic, electronic crossover | Four-level switch | 3.5 mm, 3.5 mm + mic, Type-C + mic | 22–40 Ω · 16–22 Ω | Next Day (card or cash) and Economy | From AED 95 |
What is the same
- Two tunings: Harman Target (silver) aims for a balanced sound based on listening research; Bass Edition (black) raises the low end.
- Two dynamic drivers per earpiece: one for the bass, one for the mids and highs.
- Detachable 0.75 mm 2-pin cable, about 120 cm, so a damaged cable is a cheap swap.
- Frequency response 20–40000 Hz and a 1-year warranty from us.
Drivers and crossover
KZ Castor uses an 8 mm and a 10 mm dynamic driver. KZ Castor Pro uses two 10 mm drivers and adds an electronic crossover, which sends the bass to one driver and the mids and highs to the other, so each driver only plays the range it is built for.
Tuning switches
Both have small switches on the earpiece, so you can change the sound without an app or EQ. Castor has two-stage bass and treble switches. Castor Pro has a four-level switch to tune bass and treble. If you like to experiment with the sound, the Pro gives more steps to try.
Plug options: the biggest practical difference
Castor comes with 3.5 mm or 3.5 mm with mic. Castor Pro adds a Type-C with mic version, which plugs straight into phones and laptops that have no headphone jack (for example iPhone 15 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S models, iPads and many laptops). If your phone has no jack and you don't want an adapter, choose the Castor Pro Type-C.
Which one to choose
- Lower price, phone or laptop with a 3.5 mm jack: KZ Castor (see the price in the table).
- Phone without a headphone jack: KZ Castor Pro Type-C + mic (the only one of the two with Type-C).
- More control over the sound: KZ Castor Pro (electronic crossover and four-level switch).
- Need it tomorrow or want to pay cash on delivery: KZ Castor Pro (Next Day delivery with card or cash; Castor ships by Economy, paid by card).
- Balanced sound: either one in Harman Target (silver). More bass: either one in Bass Edition (black).
